New Landscaper - Dear residents, the Board felt it was necessary to send another email to clarify the original email sent regarding the change in our landscape maintenance contract. Recently, Louisiana Lawn requested an increase that we felt was high. Although, we have been very pleased with their work, we felt the most responsible course of action in handling residents' dues was to bid the contract out. We received 3 additional bids from local companies, and choose Massengale Ground Maintenance Inc. based not only on their bid, but also information from our management company who uses them at other properties they manage. Also, they maintain the grounds at Town Center and the Mall of Louisiana which made us feel they could handle the size and scope of the work to be done in Santa Maria. This will be a one year contract so we can assess our working relationship with them and the quality of their work. If necessary we will re bid the contract for the following year. We hope this clarifies our decision. Please feel free to contact any Board member with any additional questions or concerns you may have.

| Residents Home Destroyed by Fire after Lightening Strike |

A fellow Santa Maria neighbor in The Highlands had their home destroyed by fire after a lightening strike during the recent severe thunder storms. The Healing Place Church has graciously agreed to coordinate the collection of donations for the strickened family. Please see the Announcement section for details on how to donate to this fund. |

A letter was released on May 29th to all SMPOA residents announcing the 2011 Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place June 29th from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the BREC Clubhouse at Santa Maria. The letter includes the agenda, bios on the nominees to the SMPOA Board of Directors and the 2010 income statement and balance sheet. The letter and attachments can be viewed on the Meeting Minutes page in the Residents Only portion of the website. |

| 2011 Crawfish Boil |

The 2011 Crawfish Boil was held on Saturday, May 7, at Oak Park and it was very well attended again this year with 122 families signing in. There was plenty of crawfish, the clowns were busy face painting and making balloon animals, the children train was on-track and the beer did not run out until near the end of the day. We hope you had a good time and maybe met a new resident or perhaps got to know your neighbors a little better. Pictures were taken and you can view them by going to the Photo page in the Residents only portion of the website. |
